About Nancy

Dr. Wu is a board-certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist with over twenty years of clinical experience treating a wide variety of psychiatric illnesses. She specializes in childhood/adolescent developmental struggles, ADHD, and mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. Dr. Wu earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed her adult psychiatry residency at University of California, San Francisco, and her child/adolescent fellowship at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. After fellowship, she engaged in clinical research, working with traumatized adolescents and their families and was funded by the National Institute of Mental Health for ten years.

Dr. Wu employs a holistic approach to help patients ease their suffering and live life with more joy, spontaneity, and well-being. Patients learn to live in the present moment and connect mind with body using mindfulness- and body-based interventions (eg., Somatic Experiencing) along with cognitive behavioral approaches and psychopharmacology. She has trained in Mindfulness Stress Reduction, Cognitive Therapy, Self-Compassion, and has taught mindfulness practices to children and adults. Dr. Wu has special expertise working with victims of acute or cumulative trauma.
