About Leigh

Dr. Goodrich is a board-certified general adult psychiatrist with experience treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders. Her areas of special interest include anxiety and panic disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She enjoys working with adolescent and young adult patients, and is passionate about student mental health within the transitional-aged youth (TAY, ages 18-25) population.

Dr. Goodrich received her bachelor’s degree from UCLA and her medical degree from UC Irvine. She completed her Psychiatry residency training at UC Irvine, where she served as chief resident, and worked in clinics specializing in Women’s Mental Health, anxiety and complex PTSD among veterans, and with neurodivergent patients in ADHD and autism-spectrum clinics. She has received additional training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy through the New Center for Psychoanalysis.

Prior to joining CalPsychiatry, much of Dr. Goodrich’s work has centered on education, advocacy and global mental health. She worked with indigenous women in rural Panama to develop prenatal counseling that included mental health supports, and has presented internationally on topics including the psychiatric evaluation of asylum-seekers. She remains involved in medical education, teaching and supervising Psychiatry residents at UC Irvine. She also chairs the Women’s Forum Committee and is a Council member of the Orange Country Psychiatric Society.

Dr. Goodrich is passionate about truly understanding her patients and taking an individualized approach to treatment that puts each patient’s priorities at the center. She brings curiosity, empathy and support to each conversation, grounded in the belief that effective care and communication begins primarily with active listening.

Dr. Goodrich offers in-person appointments out of CalPsychiatry’s Orange County & Santa Monica offices, as well as telepsychiatry appointments.
